| The Texas bluebonnet and paintbrush ornaments are delicately and intricately hand painted on the inside by skilled artists using special narrow brushes and pointed sticks. The painting process begins after the glass is hand blown and frosted on the inside. Next a special bent brush is inserted through the tiny opening. The artists sketch an outline of the drawing. Then the more difficult step of slowly filling in the colors begins. Delicate brush strokes are used to apply the paint over a period of several days. The entire hand-painted process requires approximately one week; the result is a beautiful and unique ornament. This technique is known as reverse glass painting or Verre églomisé. This process not only preserves the artwork from wear, but allows light to pass through it thus illuminating each colorful image.
The state flower ornaments are treasures that you’ll be proud to give or own. They are prefect for keepsakes, all occasion gifts, collectibles, souvenirs or for that special someone that has almost everything. The state flower ornaments are not limited to display on the Christmas tree. They are suitable for permanent display on ornamental stands or bases. Though the designs are similar, each state flower ornament does possess its own unique handcrafted character. Each 65 mm hand painted ornament is presented in a protective red padded box. All artwork is commissioned and copyrighted by Rose M. Byrd. Please do not download files without permission. |
